CALL-FOOD-PANTRY-1

Mercer Landmark, along with Nutra Blend’s Drive to Feed Kids Program, recently made a $2500 donation to the C.A.L.L. Food Pantry for use in their Mercer County Backpack Program. The Backpack program currently serves 325 students grades K-4, throughout Mercer County who may not have adequate food supplies available to them. Each Friday, the child is sent home with a bag containing two breakfast, two lunches, two dinners, some snacks, as well as juice. This program takes around $30k-$35k per year in operating cost. Volunteers come in weekly to put together the bags which are then delivered to the schools on Fridays. Pastor Tim Clutter, Executive Director of the C.A.L.L. Ministries, was kind enough to give a tour of their facilities to Mike Dammeyer, Feed Manager; Vern Schroyer, Celina Branch Manager; Eric Post, Saint Henry Branch Manager; and Angie Schlarman, Grain Originator. He explained to them the history of the Ministry, the process that families go through to get assistance, the new Work 4 Program, as well as their newly installed Aquaponics Bay that was donated. The aquaponics system will be able to produce 16,000 pounds of fresh root vegetables a year once it is filled. The C.A.L.L. Ministry is open to take donations Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9am-4pm and Tuesday and Thursday 5:30-7. There is also a donation box located near the garage door for convenience.

Mercer Landmark was a proud sponsor of the 2014 Fall Feeding Farmers in the Field

The Ohio Ag Net and T102 honored Northwest Ohio farmers and helped them get harvest done with a little fun. On September 26, October 3, 10 and 17, they chose one lucky farmer to receive lunch along with their family and hired hands. They delivered it right to the field or farm. Ohio Ag Net’s Dale Minyo and Ty Higgins broadcast from the winning farm, and T102 morning show host JB brought lunch for up to 10 people. The winning farmer also received prizes from the sponsors.

This summer one of Grover Hill’s customers got creative and hauled wheat in this old fire truck!
