Mercer Landmark currently has its own contract egg production program, in which we take pride in providing a Grade A egg to our egg buyer following all the state, federal, and humane rules. This program started back in 2007, and has continued to evolve through the times with all the industry changes. Mercer Landmark also specializes in the manufacturing of Poultry Feed for Layers and Pullets for customers throughout western Ohio and eastern Indiana. We work with the top nutritionist to make sure the diets are properly balanced for optimum pullet growth and Layer egg production for our Poultry Customers. Mercer Landmark will work with your nutritionist to make sure your Poultry rations are balanced to your farm’s needs.

This year Mercer Landmark will be offering a greater line up of show feeds. We will offer a full line up of Honor Show Chow Feeds and Purina Animax Feeds. We will also be doing a Show Cattle Grower and a Show Cattle Finisher in 50# poly bags.

We suggest offering a good quality starter within the first 3 days of birth. Offering small amounts of starter early on will allow your calves to find and introduce themselves to starter intakes sooner. Always offer free choice water.
Mercer Landmark offers many different milk replacer and calf programs. Every farm is different and our calf and heifer specialists work with each operation to help you determine your growth goals and how to reach them.
Maintaining a healthy gut is always important in every calf, but all probiotics are not the same. While some probiotics are more calf specific then others, we encourage you to work with your feed specialist to help maintain a healthy gut environment in your calves.
This is called compensatory gain, and the answer is no. While it may cost less to put weight on an animal as he or she gets older, you lose the efficiency as a young animal and you cannot make up for the lost gain opportunities at a young age during the grower stage or beyond.
Most commonly dairy replacement heifers are kept on milk for 7 to 8 weeks, where dairy bull calves may be weaned a week earlier around 6-7 weeks. Weaning can vary on each farm depending on your current program and growth goals.
